Gunnison County, 5,400 Acres
The town of Hotchkiss Colorado bears the family name. The ranch has been in the same family since 1882 and is located north and west of the small coal mine town of Somerset, CO. This ranch is remotely located 5 miles back from the nearest gravel road in the heart of prime Elk hunting and is contiguous to approximately 15,000 acres of National Forest with very limited access to the general public. Elk, Deer, Bear and Varmints are also available on this property. The west muddy river runs through this property and will yeild trout fishing. This ranch will annually produce quality Elk hunting for the rifleman and archer.
The Bunkhouse & Camping
This is a big game only property, tent and trailer camping is permitted in designated areas for the various big game seasons.
The old sheeping ground ranch house has been modified to provide a very comfortable stay. From the natural Aspen tongue and groove walls to the wood burning fire place. This cabin has a true Rocky Mountain atmosphere. Propane kitchen stove, refrigerator, and lighting. Running potable hot and cold water with indoor sanitary facilities and shower. Wood heat fireplace and beds to sleep 15 hunters comfortably. The cabin is centrally located on the property making it a very efficient starting point to hunt the entire property and the surrounding forest.
