ASPEN LEAF RANCH - Unit #521
This ranch lies in Gunnison County and is located north and west of Paonia, CO and is contiguous to thousands of landlocked BLM and National Forest ground. This ranch has been in the same family since 1920. The ranch is remotely located 3 miles back off the Colbran road running north of the ranch. A large resident herd is located here, with the general migration coming off Hunters Ridge and Electric Mountain migrating over Aspen Leaf Ranch.
There is an excellent trail system on the ranch and adjoining BLM & Forest. These trail heads all begin at the ranch and are very capable of handling 4-wheel drive off road pickups, although 4-wheel ATV's are strongly suggested. The trail system is estimated to cover a combined distance of over 15 miles, which means you can get back to prime hunting with little effort and out with your game with ease.
Corrals and a fenced pasture are in place for horses, a tack barn is located right next to the corrals. Hay is provided by the RMSA. If horses are requested, please contact the RMSA and we will get things lined out for you.
The lodge on the Aspen Leaf Ranch is designed and setup specifically to provide hunters a relaxed and very comfortable stay. The lodge is a 50' x 50' two story building, 2500 sq. ft. on each level for a total of 5000 sq. ft.

The ground floor has a semi restaurant style kitchen. The stove has a 6 burner grill side by side, two ovens, large fridge and ample counter space. In the center of the ground floor is a 15 ft. circular field stone fire place running up through the center of the building. Seven bedrooms, one off the kitchen for the cook and with 6 bedrooms along one wall. A bath and shower finish off the floor. The upstairs consists of two additional baths and 14 bedrooms. All bedrooms are heated with independent electric base board heat with individual thermostats located in the room. A covered hanging area for the Elk is provided and we are set up with several butchers in the area who do a great job on wild game.
This hunting lodge is put in the heart of prime Elk country, very typical of Jacobs Ranch another RMSA property which posts 50% to 100% success rates on elk. We are confident this ranch will provide you with the type of elk hunt you are truly searching for.
